Solvent-Based Adhesive
Solvent-Based Adhesives
Solvents consist of a polymer crosslinking agent and, sometimes, at least one functional additive. This allows the operating characteristics of the adhesive to be changed to fit the application. 3 Sigma’s solvent adhesives perform excellently at various temperatures and feature significant humidity and chemical resistance. In addition, solvents allow for transparent coating and can be customized to hold permanently or removed cleanly. This type of adhesive is ideal for rough substrates and presents outstanding performance and conversion characteristics.
Although solvent adhesives are notorious for emitting VOCs, 3 Sigma takes care to increase the sustainability of this product and safely dispose of these chemicals. 3 Sigma’s solvent adhesive is ideal for graphic mounting, structural bonding tapes, durable labels, credit card affixing, process aids, sound dampening, and tamper-evident products. 3 Sigma can coat web widths up to 65”. 3 Sigma’s top solvent-based adhesive technologies include SP1 and SP19. These feature aggressive adhesion to a variety of surfaces.
